NOTE: This page is still under construction, but you can
browse it and give me your feedback.

If you are new to photo sharing it is recommended
that you start at step 1 and continue down the list.
If you are more experienced and want to browse, feel free to
do so. If you know of good internet tutorials and
think others would benefit from them, send an email to Doug
Oriard on the member directory page to get them added.
Step 1 -- Introduction to Photo Sharing on
the Internet. See
this video
for an introduction and the names of a few popular photo
sharing websites.
Step 2 -- Photo Sharing on Flickr. Start out by
taking the
tour of
Flickr (click on "Start the Magical Feature Tour).
This will show you what is available on Flickr. You
can start using Flickr after you signup for a FREE account.
If you use version 10 of the ACDSee photo manager, there is
even a built-in uploader for sending files to Flickr or
Smugmug (more on Smugmug later). Flickr is a Yahoo
company so will need a Yahoo ID. Yahoo IDs are also
needed to take full advantage of the Spokane Camera Club
Yahoo Group so it is highly recommended to get one. To
get a Yahoo ID go to
this page and sign up, it's free.
Step 3 -- Photo Sharing on
Webshots.
Webshots not only makes photo sharing easy, but they have a
free software tool that allows you to create a screensaver
and wallpaper with either your own photos or your favorite
photos downloaded from webshots.com. Webshots is a
great site for browsing any of their almost 600 million
photos from around the world. The main downside to
Webshots is that the site is so busy that is sometimes gets
slow.
about.com -- More photo sharing websites at about.com. About.com
has information on lots of subjects, including an area on
photography. The photo sharing websites link lists a
number of popular websites for displaying your photos.
Some of these sites are free and some aren't.
